Basic Safety Training according STCW-95

All seafarers who are employed or engaged in the performance of duties in the field of maritime safety or pollution prevention must undergo basic safety training in accordance with the STCW-95 Convention, including the following:


The course is provided by Privatschule für Schiffssicherheit - SOS Rügen. The course is approved by the BG Verkehr (German Flag State Authority) (the security section is approved by the BSH).

The course content refers to sections A-VI/1-1 to A-VI/1-4 and A-VI/6 of the STCW Convention as well as SOLAS chapter XI-1, SOLAS chapter XI-2 and the ISPS Code Part A and B.

    No previous seagoing service required

80 hours (50 hours theoretical, 30 hours practical instruction)- 08:30 - 16:00, from Monday to Friday (10 days)

Certificate of attendance to apply for the certificate of competence for 'Basic Safety Training' and 'Basic Security Awareness Training'
