Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue boats according STCW

This course is for seafarers who must be able to launch a survival craft or rescue boats as part of the ship's crew in emergencies, maneuver it, and take responsibility for the boat.

Launching and recovering survival craft and standby boats

Maneuvering survival craft and standby boats

Knowledge of parts and equipment and the proper use of equipment and provisions

Use of rescue boats to collect life rafts and rescue survivors

Use of radio rescue devices

Use of first aid equipment and the correct treatment and prevention of hypothermia

Use of pyrotechnic distress signals

The course is provided by Privatschule für Schiffssicherheit - SOS Rügen. The course is approved by the BG Verkehr (German Flag State Authority).

The course content refers to section A-VI/2 of the STCW Convention.

Medical fitness certificate for seafarers

Certificate of proficiency Basic Safety Training not older than 5 years (10 days course) or refresher course not older than 5 years

Minimum age 18 years

40 hours - 08:30 - 16:00, from Monday to Friday (5 days)
